Prince Henrik of Denmark (Henrik Carl Joachim Alain; born 4 May 2009), is the third child and third and youngest son of Prince Joachim of Denmark, and the elder child and only son of Joachim's second wife, Princess Marie. Henrik is the fifth grandchild of Margrethe II and the late Henrik, Prince Consort of Denmark.

Henrik is ninth in the line of succession to the Danish throne.

Prince Henrik was born at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 4 May 2009.

Henrik has two older half-siblings: Prince Nikolai (1999) and Prince Felix (2002), and one younger full-sibling: Princess Athena (2012).

Henrik was christened on 26 July 2009, at Møgeltønder Church. Per Danish tradition, his names were announced for the first time as Henrik Carl Joachim Alain.

Henrik's godparents are Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, Charles Cavallier, Benjamin Grandet, Britt Davidsen Siesbye, and Christian Scherfig.

Education

On 11 August 2015, Henrik started school at Sct. Joseph Søstrenes Skole, a Catholic private school in Ordrup.
