Count Felix of Monpezat (Felix Henrik Valdemar Christian; born 22 July 2002), is the younger son and child of Prince Joachim of Denmark and and his first wife, Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg. He is the second grandchild of Margrethe II of Denmark and Henrik, Prince of Denmark.

Felix is eighth in the line of succession to the Danish throne.

Felix was born at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 22 July 2002.

Felix has one older sibling: Prince Nikolai (1999), and two younger half-siblings: Prince Henrik (2009) and Princess Athena (2012).

Christening

Felix was christened on 4 October 2002, at Møgeltønder Church in Møgeltønder. Per Danish tradition, his names were announced for the first time as Felix Henrik Valdemar Christian. Also at the christening, the musical work Dåbens Pagt, composed by Frederik Magle and dedicated to Felix, was given its first performance.

Felix's godparents are Count Christian Ahlefeldt-Laurvig, Martina Bent, Oscar Davidsen Siesbye, Damian Sibley, and Annick Boel.

Parents' Divorce and Remarriages

When Prince Joachim and Princess Alexandra divorced in 2005, the ex-couple were granted joint custody of Felix and Nikolai.

In 2007, Alexandra remarried to Martin Jørgensen. The marriage ended in divorce in 2015. In 2008, Joachim remarried to Marie Cavallier, and the marriage produced to children, Henrik and Athena.

Education

Felix attended pre-school at the Garnison Sogns Menigheds Børnehave (Garrison Parish Church’s Preschool) in Copenhagen.

In 2008, at the age of six, Felix began school at Krebs' Skole (Krebs School), also in Copenhagen.
